Boys will be Boys

Well today was the final day of the first week of school for Celidah, Jade, Jairon, and Zach and for who knows what reason Jairon and Zach decided that they were NOT going to ride the bus home but walk. HOWEVER, they are NOT listed as will walk, but will bus to AND from school.

The school called over the loud speaker for the final call for all students to get in line. With Jairon and Zach, not in line or showing up, the kids in line were getting restless and Jade became very anxious.

Finally, about five minutes the kids were allowed to get on the bus and they took off without the boys.

Unfortunately for Zach and Jairon who beat the bus home, they were met with a very ticked off and angry big sister who came flying through the door ferrous that they not only missed the bus, but missed it on purpose to walk home.

More upset were two boys who quickly discovered that the consequences for choosing to walk home WITHOUT permission upset their big sister, worry the teachers, and make fun of knowing how to get home and beat the bus was to write 20 sentences and apology letters.

They were so upset to discover that they had to write 20 times each “I will not walk home without permission.” Then they had to write the apology letters to the bus driver, their teacher, AND the principal. Talk about total torture to two boys who thought that walking home without permission would be fun.

They were also upset to learn they have been placed on the may not leave school property without leaving on the bus or without parental escort. This also made them more upset.

Although one good thing in this is we do know that they know how to get home and they do know where home is in relation to the school.

While I understand I may have been more harsh on the kids than the school would have been, they need to understand that each action whether good or bad, right or wrong will have consequences. Some of these consequences they will want repeated, others they will want to avoid. The earlier they learn the difference the better young men they will become.
